Names and titles carry meaning, history, and significance. They are expressions of identity that honor each person's unique path and accomplishments. Recognizing and using the names and titles people choose for themselves isn’t just a matter of courtesy; it’s a way to build trust, foster a culture of respect, and strengthen professional relationships.

In professional environments, how we address each other is more than a formality—it’s a foundation of mutual respect and a reflection of the values we bring into our workspaces. Whether it's between colleagues, in client interactions, or across leadership teams, the way we address one another sets the tone for open communication and shared respect.

In these settings, I prefer to be addressed as Dr. Summerour. This title represents my journey, dedication, and commitment to my field, and I ask that it be used as a sign of respect for the expertise and experience it signifies. My pronouns are she/her/hers. Lisa Summerour, Ed.D.

Dr. Summerour is the CEO of Summa Our Creatives, Inc, formerly Summerour & Associates, Inc. As a consultant and leadership advisor, she spent more than a decade working closely with The Learner’s Group in a consultative capacity as COO, lead faciitator, curriculum designer and researcher.

In 2023, Dr. Summerour was retained as a consultant and advisor to the CEO of The Whitaker Group (TWG), a premier corporate strategy, transaction advisory, and project development firm specializing in business in Africa. Her role involved advising the CEO, recruiting for key positions, coordinating logistics, and maintaining client engagement. She played an instrumental role in enhancing the CEO’s ability to work with government officials, international finance institutions, and US-based investment entities. Additionally, she identified strategies to streamline operations and improve employee engagement across multiple entities under TWG’s purview.

Executives from organizations including Farm Credit Virginia and Optimize/Heroic have benefited from Dr. Summerour's ability to help leaders tune into blindspots and enhance their strengths, allowing them to maximize their potential and that of their teams.
